Founded in 1971, the Campus Preschool & Early Childhood Center provides early childhood education to the children of students, faculty, and staff at Binghamton University and the surrounding community.  Enrollment is open to children from the age of 18 months through kindergarten.

What is high quality early childhood program?
A high quality early childhood program provides a safe nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.  In accredited programs, you will see...

Philosophy
Children thrive in a nurturing and rich environment that includes experiences which foster social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.  Self-directed play and active hands-on exploration help children grow and develop the joy of learning.  Individual uniqueness and diversity are valued and nourished.  Finally, education is a joint venture between parents and teachers, and for that reason, the informal conversations and formal conferences with parents assist with providing the best possible experiences for children

Program
Children are offered participation in a wide variety of creative and stimulating activities, including art, music, science, dramatic play, math, reading readiness, language, and fine and gross motor activities.  We take full advantage of the out-of-the-doors during all seasons of the year, as well as community field trips to expand the opportunities for learning, fun, and development. Professionally trained teachers give consistent support and encouragement to the children to help them develop self-confidence, independence, and skills for successful relationships.

Location
The Campus Preschool & Early Childhood Center, which was completed in 1991, is located behind the East Gym on the Binghamton University Campus, where the building and the playground were designed for the specific needs of children.

Schedule
The Campus Preschool & Early Childhood Center operates on the University calendar and is open 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Full and half day options are available Monday through Friday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or Tuesday and Thursday.

Tuition and Fees
Tuition is divided into ten monthly installments to cover September through June. Students have option to end in May.   Tuition is charged at the same rates for the summer sessions.  There is also a yearly registration fee. Reduced tuition rates  are available for children of students contingent upon financial support from the appropriate student organizations.

Kindergarten
The Center offers a morning kindergarten program designed for children who can benefit from an enriched open classroom environment.  Children may attend full or half day.  An afternoon enrichment program is available to those who prefer full day program.

Summer Programs
